What Is Ozone?
Ozone is an enriched form of Oxygen, occurring naturally and a component of the air we breathe each day. Oxygen in the atmosphere consists of two atoms per molecule (O2). In nature, Ozone is created when an electrical charge is produced from lightning. This electrical charge splits the Oxygen molecule apart, leaving two, unstable Oxygen molecules (O1). In an effort to stabilize, these O1 atoms attach to other Oxygen atoms (O2) creating Ozone (O3). Ozone (O3) is also unstable and has a average half life of 15 – 20 minutes. In addition to Ozone (O3) that is created naturally, Ozone (O3) can also be produced commercially by a device that can create an electrical corona discharge.
